Which Permit Do I need?

A permit is required for a variety of activities that take place on airport property to ensure safety, security, and smooth operations. This includes Special Events Permits for organized activities such as ceremonies, community events, or promotional gatherings; Media Production Permits for commercial filming, photography, and related media activities; and Welcoming and Wayfinding Table Permits for groups wishing to greet travelers or provide information within airport facilities. All permits must be approved in advance and may require processing fees, insurance, and adherence to specific guidelines regarding location, duration, and operational impact.

Filming Permit

Filming, videotaping, and professional photography is allowed in the airport with a revocable permit from the Department of Airports. All activities must be coordinated with the Department and any tenants and airlines that may be impacted by the filming or photography session. All Transportation Security Administration (TSA) rules and guidelines must be strictly adhered to.

To begin the permitting process, you will need to provide:

  • A script, storyboard, and/or detailed description of the project.
  • The number of anticipated crew, talent, and clients who will be part of the project.
  • The day, date, and anticipated number of hours the project requires.
  • Proof of insurance.

Permit Fee: $650

Location Fees

Film/Video (production involving up to 6 people)

  • Up to 2 hours: $200
  • Each additional hour: $100

Film/Video (production involving 7-15 people)

  • Up to 2 hours: $500
  • Each additional hour: $150

Film/Video (production involving more than 15 people)

  • Up to 2 hours: $1,000
  • Each additional hour: $200

Student Projects (Vocational, Trade School, College, or University)

  • Fee waived for up to 5 hours. Requires letter from school authorities and proof of insurance liability from the school.

Additional cost may apply depending on the need for airport police, security, or airport personnel: $60/hr

Photography Permit

Permit Fee: $650

Location Fees

Still photography photo shoot (production involving up to 6 people)

  • Up to 2 hours: $100
  • Each additional hour: $50

Still photography photo shoot (production involving more than 6 people)

  • Up to 2 hours: $200
  • Each additional hour: $100

Student Projects (Vocational, Trade School, College, or University)

  • Fee waived for up to 5 hours. Requires letter from school authorities and proof of insurance liability from the school.

Special Events Permit

Permit Fee: $500

A Special Events Permit aka ‘Expressive Activities,’ is required for any organized activity that takes place on airport property and involves the use of public areas beyond normal daily operations. This includes, but is not limited to, ceremonies, promotional events, community activities, and other gatherings that may impact airport operations or require additional coordination.

All special events must receive prior approval to ensure compliance with security protocols, operational requirements, and local regulations. Applicants may be subject to processing fees, insurance requirements, and additional permits depending on the nature of the event.

Additional cost may apply depending on the need for airport police, security, or airport personnel: $60/hr

Welcoming and Wayfinding Table Permit

Permit Fee: $125

A Welcoming and Wayfinding Table Permit is required for any organization, business, or group that wishes to set up an informational or greeting table within airport facilities. This permit applies to activities such as greeting travelers, distributing approved informational materials, providing wayfinding assistance, or hosting community engagement displays.

All table placements must be pre-approved to ensure they do not interfere with passenger flow, security requirements, or operational activities. Permit holders must follow all airport guidelines regarding table location, staffing, signage, and duration of use. Fees and insurance requirements may apply depending on the nature and scope of the activity.

Additional cost may apply depending on the need for airport police, security, or airport personnel: $60/hr
