LARGE CROWDS EXPECTED SATURDAY AS TRAVELERS HEAD TO ROSE BOWL

December 29, 2017

Travelers Should Arrive Early
Will Rogers World Airport is anticipating large crowds tomorrow as travelers head west to the Rose Bowl. To accommodate all the Sooner fans, two airlines have added three additional flights to their regular daily schedule. There are also six dedicated charters. All flights are fully booked. Allowing enough time will be critical for travelers to ensure that their bags are checked and they don’t miss their flights. The airlines and airport are advising travelers to arrive two hours before departure, particularly for the early morning departures.
Here are key things travelers should remember:
• Most airlines have a 30-45 minute cutoff time for checked bags regardless of what time you arrive in the ticket counter line. Passengers should check with their airline for the cutoff times.
• Be sure to check your bags for prohibited items
• If not checking bags, pre-print your boarding pass or download it from your airline app
• At the checkpoint have your ticket and ID ready
• Remove sports coats, jackets, hoodies and scarves
• Remove all laptops and electronic items from carry-on bags and place in a separate bin
With a forecast of light freezing drizzle, weather may play a role in on-time departures. Airport staff are monitoring conditions and are prepared should there be freezing precipitation.
