SkyWest Airlines Celebrates New Oklahoma City Hangar with Open House and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Oklahoma City – SkyWest Airlines, a wholly-owned subsidiary of SkyWest, Inc. (NASDAQ: SKYW) celebrates the opening of their new 135,000-square foot maintenance hangar at WRWA with a ribbon cutting to be held Thursday, Sept. 20. Mike Thompson – SkyWest Airlines Chief Operating Officer will join Oklahoma City Mayor David Holt, OKC Airports Director Mark Kranenburg and Greater Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce Chairman Rhonda Hooper for remarks at the event.

The new maintenance facility accommodates up to nine regional aircraft and supports overnight maintenance for SkyWest’s four major airline partners. Construction began in July 2017 and the hangar was completed last month.

“SkyWest selected Oklahoma City because of its location, competitive costs and connectivity throughout our operation,” said Mike Thompson, SkyWest Airlines Chief Operating Officer. “We’re pleased to add another new, state-of-the-art facility to our operation and look forward to watching our Oklahoma City team continue to grow.”

SkyWest operates in Oklahoma City as a regional carrier for four major airlines – Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, American Airlines and Alaska Airlines. The company expects to employ up to 100 professionals at the new facility, with potential for more.
